Breaking Literature Festival news! The Poetry Takeaway Van
This Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October 2012, 11am to 4pm, will see the Poetry Takeaway van open for business outside Chester Town Hall, as part of the 2012 Literature Festival events, and me and the illustrious Catherine Marseille will be moonlighting (daylighting?!) as poetry chefs. Between 12 and 2pm on Saturday, me and Catherine will be serving up tasty bites of poetry on demand – what this means is, you come along and order your takeaway poem on any subject you like and within ten minutes we will give you a brand new, custom written poem of your own (open or wrapped) – and all for free!
Guest Chester poets who’ll be joining other top UK poets in the van over the weekend include Gareth Glyn Roberts, Helen Hill, Tim Heavisides, Lynne Griffiths and David Whitley. The takeaway will be presided over by Head Poetry Chef Tim Clare (presenter of Channel 4’s How To Get a Book Deal), and you can read more details about it on the Chester Literature Festival website. I hope to see you on Saturday – and I hope you’re poem-hungry!
