Review of ‘Cemetery Drive’ – JT Wilson

September 16, 2010

It’s hard to believe that this is J.T. Wilson’s first book; it’s far too neat.

The writing is fast-paced and slick, the story unravelling at just the right rate to keep your attention, full of sly digs at pop culture and populated with characters with whom we’re all sure to identify. The theme of the book – outsmarting Death and eventually having to face up to it – is a familiar one, but this is a new and clever imagining of the scenario, mixing traditional fantasy with sci fi and commentary on the trials of modern life. The whole story is tied off in a neat way that is incredibly satisfying. The only disappointment is that it’s not longer – a sequel, or more tales from this universe, is eagerly awaited.
